Built around Marin’s fog, not a national program
Nora started Terrain Lawn Co. after several years working in residential landscape design around the Bay Area, where she kept seeing the same problem: lawns treated as a separate, generic line item instead of part of the property’s overall design and its actual climate.
Most national lawn-care programs sold in Marin are written for climates that get rain year-round — which is part of why so many lawns here look fine in April and patchy by August. Terrain’s program exists specifically to fix that mismatch: fewer, better-timed applications and a real respect for the county’s water rules, instead of a generic monthly schedule.
The crew is still small on purpose. Every property gets the same technician every visit, which means a shaded, fog-damp corner or a serpentine-soil pocket gets noticed early instead of reported by a rotating crew that’s never seen the yard before.
